Andrea Pirlo: I think therefore I play
Andrea Pirlo, is an Italian professional soccer player. Pirlo was most known for his vision and his creative playmaking ability to create chances for his team. Pirlo won a World Cup with Italy, two Champions Leagues, two EUFA Super cups, and finished top of the table in his league (Serie A) six times. The book I think therefore I play, written by Andrea Pirlo and Alessandro Alciato, is about the life of Andrea Pirlo, and explores his experiences as a professional soccer player. The book starts off talking about how he started his professional career. Pirlo in 1995 played for a club in his hometown called Brescia, where in the exact same year he joined Brescia won the league title for Serie B. After the success in his club, scouts from another club called Inter Milan recruited him to join their team. Pirlo didn't end up getting a lot of playing time and loansåå from other clubs ended up with Pirlo making the decision to transfer to cross city rivals AC Milan. Pirlo found a lot of success at AC Milan and most of the achievements he has to this day are from playing at AC Milan. Pirlo matured into the legend he is today from playing for AC Milan. In 2011 he left AC Milan to go to Juventus, where he won four titles for Serie A. In 2015 Pirlo transferred to the MLS (major league soccer) and played for New York City FC, which lead to his retirement in 2017. I thought this was a very good book because it really showed me what it takes to be a legend in soccer. Pirlo worked very hard and was committed to being the best he could be for his club no matter who he played for. He also talked about his feelings winning important events and really explained what it felt like to win something so important to him. I would recommend this book to anyone looking for a good autobiography or a good read. This book had me engaged and interested the whole time while reading it.
